Add a box to the working bar, change it or archive it

How to do it

  1. Press the round «+» button in the box bar at the top. It is drawn as a «+» sign in a dashed circle, stands first in the bar, to the left of the boxes, and carries no caption.
  2. In the «New box» list that opens, pick the box TYPE. The list holds only the types with the «In use» flag switched on; your own types are marked «custom».
  3. The box appears in the bar and the name is assigned automatically - «B54.001», for example, where 54 is the number of cells and 001 the sequence number.
  4. To change a box, open its card: tap the icon of the ALREADY ACTIVE box in the bar. If the box is not active, the first tap makes it active - tap again. The card holds the «Name», the «Location, notes» and the «Solution».
  5. An empty box is archived from the same card.

When it is available

  • Available to an editor and an administrator.
  • At least one box type has the «In use» flag switched on. Factory types ship with the farm, so this is usually already the case.

Important

  • THE «+» BUTTON DOES NOT CREATE A NEW BOX TYPE. It adds a box of a type that ALREADY EXISTS, while the type itself - the cover with its cell diameter and layout - is built in the box types reference data (FEAT-026).
  • The type you need is missing from the list for one of two reasons: it has not been created yet, or its «In use» flag is switched off. Both are fixed in the reference data, not in the bar.
  • A box takes its cell diameter from its type and from nowhere else: 3" cells cannot be chosen while adding a box - a type with that diameter is needed.
  • A box can be renamed, but the product warns first: «After renaming, the box name will no longer carry the cell count and the type. Continue?»
  • A box with occupied cells cannot be archived - free the cells first.
  • An archived box is not deleted for good, it goes to the archive; it can be restored on the «Archive (restore)» screen.

If you see a message

  • «Free all cells of the box first» - there are still plants in the box. Harvest them or discard them, and only then remove the box.
  • «Box not found» - the box has already been deleted by another member. Refresh the page.
  • «Name is already taken» - a box with this name already exists on the farm. The name must be unique.
  • «Could not find a free name» - the app could not pick a free default name. Set the name by hand.
  • «Box type not found» - the chosen box type has been removed from the catalogue. Pick another one.
  • «The solution is in use - change it in those boxes first» - the solution cannot be deleted while it is assigned to boxes. Change the solution in those boxes first.
