Transfer farm ownership or delete the farm

How to do it

  1. Open «Configuration».
  2. In the «Data and danger zone» section pick «Transfer farm ownership» or «Delete farm».
  3. For a transfer - pick a member from the list.
  4. For a deletion - type the farm name into the confirmation field.

When it is available

  • Both operations are available to the farm OWNER ONLY. An administrator does not see them.
  • Ownership is transferred only to a member with the administrator role: together with ownership the person receives the subscription, power over administrators and the right to delete the farm.
  • The future owner must have a CONFIRMED email address. The owner is the person the product must be able to reach: farm emails go to that address, and access is recovered through it.

Important

  • TRANSFERRING OWNERSHIP does not expel the former owner: they stay an administrator. And only after the transfer can they leave the farm - before it leaving is impossible, a farm is not left without a keeper.
  • DELETING THE FARM HAPPENS AT ONCE, and there is nothing in the app to undo it with. The boxes, plants, operation log, measurements, farm catalogues and its settings disappear.
  • The deletion affects NOT ONLY YOU: the accounts of all farm members are deleted along with it. A person without a farm cannot sign in to the product, so leaving them their usernames would be a promise of nothing. Before you confirm, you see a list of everyone who will lose access by name.
  • The confirmation is typing the farm name by hand. This is not a formality: the name cannot be typed by accident, and on the way you read once more what exactly will disappear.
  • ONLY WE CAN RESTORE THE FARM, AND ONLY WITHIN 30 DAYS. During that time we keep a copy of the farm together with its members' accounts. It can only be restored whole, as it was: with its boxes, plants, log and members. If the farm was deleted by mistake or without your knowledge, sign in with your previous username and password: the sign-in screen shows until what date it can still be restored, and the «Write to us» button. If you signed in with Google or LINE, write to us through «Contact support» on the sign-in screen. Whether to restore the farm is our decision. After 30 days the copy is deleted, and the farm can no longer be restored.
  • One member leaving the farm is a separate operation of the same section: it deletes only their account, the farm stays.
  • Restoring the factory reference data is also an owner's operation, but it deletes nothing.

If you see a message

  • «The farm name does not match» - the farm name was typed inexactly. It is asked for precisely so that a deletion cannot happen through inattention.
  • «This member already owns the farm» - this member already owns the farm, there is nothing to transfer.
  • «Ownership can be transferred only to a member with the administrator role» - ownership is transferred only to a member with the administrator role. Raise the role first.
  • «The future owner has no email address. Set it in their member card and make sure mail reaches them, then transfer ownership» - the future owner has no confirmed email address. Without it they will not be able to recover access.
