Understand messages about wrongly filled fields

How to do it

  1. Find the field named in the message: the app always names it by the label on the screen.
  2. Correct the value the way the message asks.
  3. Save again.

When it is available

  • These messages are the same in every section: they are about filling in a form, not about running the farm.

Important

  • An ellipsis in the message text marks the place where the field name or the limit is put in: on the screen the real value stands there.

If you see a message

  • «Field "…" is required» - the field must be filled in.
  • «Field "…" must be a number» - a number is expected in the field.
  • «Field "…" must be an integer not less than …» - a whole number not less than the named one is expected.
  • «Field "…" must be text» - text is expected in the field.
  • «Field "…" must be an object» - the field holds the wrong kind of value. This usually means a stale tab - refresh the page.
  • «"…": no more than … characters» - the value is longer than allowed. The message names the limit.
  • «Value is too long (max …)» - the value is longer than allowed.
  • «An integer is expected» - a whole number is expected.
  • «"…": value is not allowed» - such a value is not allowed in this field.
  • «"…": allowed range is … to …» - the value is outside the allowed bounds. The message names them.
  • «Value is out of range …-…» - the value is outside the allowed range.
  • «Invalid date» - the date cannot be read. Pick it in the calendar instead of typing it in.
